CREATION IS AN ADVENTURE -

Whether ghostwriting the history of modern warfare in Ukraine for an oligarch, learning to roller skate dance on Chicago's Southside for a film, or teaching cinematography in Qatar, I spent the past twenty years getting out of my comfort zone. I can't help but take up a challenge.

Recently, I tackled my greatest challenge yet: writing The Exchange, a Netflix hit series in the Middle East and beyond.

Through these experiences, I learned how to leap into the unknown with equal measures of humility and aplomb.

We don't travel, explore, invent, and create to stay the same. We do it because we dream of going further. That’s why I don't like hanging out in the status quo or making things I’ve seen before.

My work is a love letter to my younger self. I write the stories I wish I had growing up. But it's also a love letter to anyone whose stories have been excluded, distorted, or trivialized. (Because I also want to write the stories they wish they had growing up.)

Daring to go further has led me to work with high-profile organizations and clients such as Kartemquin Films, Image Nation, the BBC, and Northwestern University in Qatar.

In addition, documentaries I produced have been nominated for Emmys and premiered on national television and Opening Night at Sundance.

In other words, I know a good story when I see one, and I know how to draw a crowd.
